The 2.5 DID 4D56 engine is installed in many of Australia and New Zealand’s Mitsubishi Triton’s. In stock form, this engine produces 134 KW at the crank. On a rolling road dyno we managed to increase its power to 171 KW at the fly wheel. We tested this vehicle on a rolling road dyno produced by Dyno Dynamics. Especially relevant torque from the factory is 350 NM at the flywheel and we increased this to 440 NM at the fly wheel. The only change was installing our ECU remap.
Engine features at a glance.
Intercooled Turbo (2nd Generation DI-D)
Power – 100 kW (136 PS) at 4,000 rpm
Torque – 320 N·m (236 lb·ft) at 2,000 rpm
Engine type – Inline 4-cylinder
Fuel system – 2nd Generation Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDi)
Compression ratio – 17:1
Application: Mitsubishi Challenger, Mitsubishi Triton
Emissions controls on the Mitsubishi Triton:
Our customers Triton runs an EGR valve which recirculates used exhaust gases back into the intake manifold to be re burnt. As a result of this is soot build up on the intake manifold, valves and the valve its self. Build up on the intake manifold can restrict air flow and restrict air flow and cause low power and torque output as well as improper running. Because of the carboning up of the EGR valve can prevent the valve working as it should.
Our team has the ability to program the engine ECU to allow the EGR valve to be removed or blanked and stopping EGR related problems.
We are able to solve fault codes such as;
P0400 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction
P0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected
P0402 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected
P0403 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Malfunction
P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/Performance
P0405 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low
P0406 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit High
P0407 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit Low
P0408 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
P0409 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit
