2018 Toyota Hilux
Toyota Hilux is known for its reliability, versatility, and off-road skills. However, some drivers may feel that the stock powertrain lacks the extra grunt needed for certain tasks, such as towing heavy loads or conquering challenging terrains.
In this post, we are looking at how tuning the Toyota Hilux can transform the driving experience. We are going to use this 2018 Toyota Hilux we had on the dyno as our example. The customer reached out to us for a solution to their towing problem. Luckily here at Alt Tune, we have the tools to solve this problem.
We decided that a towing tune would solve the problem for the customer. A Towing tuning offers an exciting opportunity to unlock the hidden potential of the 2018 Toyota Hilux.
After we performed the towing tune we could see an increase in power and torque. By remapping the ECU, the Hilux can be transformed into a more potent and capable machine.Towing tunes are specifically designed to optimize low-end torque, providing the Hilux with the extra pulling power required for heavy loads. With enhanced torque at lower RPMs, the Hilux gains improved acceleration and better pulling ability, making towing more manageable and efficient.
Increased Power and Torque
Increased power and torque result in safer over taking and easier open road driving. Throttle response is also increased.
Years of Development
We have been tuning the Hilux’s 2.8L 1GD-FTV 4-cylinder diesel engines for years, and understand how they work as well as the limitation on factory hardware.
We have solutions for emission systems such as disabling the Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), Diesel particulate filter (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) (Adblue) and associated DTC fault codes.
