3.0L Turbo Diesel – 4JJ1 engine – Transtron ECU

The Challenge

Under powered. That’s how many DMAX owners descirbe them. Even though they have a common rail 3 litre engine, they are lacking in power and torque compared to the Holden Colorado, Ford Ranger and Mazda BT50.

The Solution

Our dealer read out the factory ECU data via a specialist tool and advised us on the DMAX’s specifications, what it is used for and the environmental conditions it is subjected to. We then modified many key parameters such as injection, torque limiters and EGR system functions. After the tune was loaded, the DMAX was tested; power had increased by 28%, torque by 30%.
