We are using a 2013 Freightliner with a DDEC6 ECU we tuned for a customer as an example. The customer looking to optimize their fleet operation. Here at Alt Tune, we have the tools to help with that.
The Solution
ECU remapping is a process of reprogramming the engine control unit’s (ECU) software to optimize engine performance. For the Freightliner’s DDEC6 ECU, this entails recalibrating various parameters, such as fuel injection timing, turbocharger boost pressure, and air-fuel ratio, to unleash additional power and torque while maintaining reliability. To do this we used Alientech KESS3.
But that is not all ECU remapping can do for truck owners. As a truck owner, you want your truck to run reliably and have it spend as little time as possible in the shop. Many trucks have issues with the emission systems which means they spend too much downtime. But we have a solution to that problem. Adjusting the emission system through the ECU remapping and fitting it to our tune means that the Freightliner can run smoother and faster on the road and spend less time in the shop.
