2019 Toyota Hiace
2.8L – Denso ECU
The Challenge
The Toyota Hiace is a versatile and popular commercial van and has gained a reputation for its reliability, durability, and practicality. The Hiace has a boxy and robust design that maximizes interior space and provides efficient cargo or passenger transportation. The Hiace is widely used for various applications and has a platform for customization.
Because the Hiace is often used as a commercial van is it important that it can perform with full power. We are in this post looking at how tuning the Toyota Hiace unlocks its full power. As an example, we are using a 2019 Toyota Hiace with a Denso ECU that we tuned. The customer contacted us because their Hiace could use that extra power that was locked in the engine.
The Solution
We took a look at the Hiace and decided that performing a power tune using Alientech KESS3 could help with the customer’s issues. The tune resulted in improved horsepower, torque, and fuel economy, as well as a more responsive and enjoyable driving experience.
Power tuning the Toyota Hiace can make it feel more lively and responsive and can make it easier to get up to speed or tow a heavy load. Additionally, the power tune can improve fuel economy, allowing you to save money on gas and reduce your environmental impact. Another benefit of a power tune is that it can improve the vehicle’s overall drivability. This includes things like better throttle response, smoother power delivery, and improved shifting. All of these features make the tuned Toyota Hiace more enjoyable to drive and can make it feel like a completely different vehicle.

Years of Development
We have been tuning the Hiace’s 2.8L 1GD-FTV diesel engines for years, and understand how they work as well as the limitation on factory hardware.
Emissions solutions
We have solutions for emission systems such as disabling the Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), Diesel particulate filter (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) (Adblue) and associated DTC fault codes.
